Daily update is a key organisational communication tool that fosters alignment, engagement, and trust by keeping teammates on the same page about company activities. Typically short and focused on the day’s priorities or events, they are delivered at a consistent time each day to establish routine and reliability. They can be delivered in a variety of ways, from emails and app notifications to brief meetings or a platform like tchop(tm).
To enable daily updates in your Action, configure one of its intents as a triggering intent and set the daily update option as the response for that intent. Next, add a dialogue to the daily update intent that prompts users to subscribe and collects their custom parameters (if configured). Depending on how you deploy your Action, this step may be automated via the Assistant integration or manually by your team.
Once a user has subscribed to daily updates for your Action, they’ll receive an Assistant notification at the times they’ve specified for this option. Invoke your Action to test this functionality.
To encourage users to use this feature, prompt them to subscribe mid-conversation or as a suggestion chip before they exit your Action successfully. Also, give them a reason to use this feature by showing them what they’ll get when they tap the daily update button: Different, useful content every day.
