The front page of a newspaper is typically devoted to the biggest news stories of the day. A Web site may also have a front page which acts as a welcome mat or a way of directing visitors to key content on the site. Microsoft FrontPage is a WYSIWYG editor that was included in some editions of Windows and provided functionality for creating Web sites.
Articles on front-page include the top news stories for a country or region, but can be broader in scope. It can also be used to tease other stories in the newspaper.
For example, a cricketer will be very happy to get front-page news for scoring five wickets, but not so much for making a century.
